The MEAN WELL XDR-480E delivers up to 480W of dependable AC/DC power in a compact industrial DIN-rail package. Designed for demanding control and automation systems, it combines high power density with a universal 85–264VAC input, efficient power conversion and fanless cooling.
With 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V output options, adjustable output voltage and built-in protection, the XDR-480E is designed to handle serious industrial workloads without taking up unnecessary cabinet space. It also adds a useful DC OK relay and built-in parallel capability for applications requiring even more power.
Specifications At A Glance
The XDR-480E brings substantial power to the DIN rail, with models covering 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V outputs.
The 24V version is rated at 20A / 480W, while the 48V version delivers 10A / 480W. The 36V version provides 13.3A / 478.8W, giving you plenty of flexibility when selecting the right output for your equipment.
Despite its 480W output capability, the XDR-480E keeps its footprint impressively compact.
The enclosure measures just 48mm wide × 125.2mm high × 125mm deep, making it a practical choice where cabinet space matters. It is designed for DIN-rail installation and fits TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 rails.
The XDR-480E uses free-air convection cooling, keeping things simple with no cooling fan required.
That means no moving fan assembly to maintain, while the power supply remains suited to industrial installations where reliable, low-maintenance operation is important.
The XDR-480E gives you useful control over the output voltage.
For example, the 24V model can be adjusted from 24–29VDC, helping you fine-tune the supply for the requirements of your installation.

Built-in parallel functionality allows up to four XDR-480E units to be connected together for higher output power, with a droop-mode current-sharing arrangement. This makes it possible to build higher-power systems without moving to a completely different power-supply platform.
The datasheet specifies a maximum of four units in parallel, with the combined output current limited according to the manufacturer's parallel-operation requirements.
The XDR-480E is built for a wide range of industrial environments, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, subject to the specified derating curve.
It also supports operation at elevated altitudes and provides OVC III capability under the applicable IEC/EN 61558 requirements.
